The Tibetan Spaniel is, as it's name implies, from the country of Tibet. This breed of dog learns very quickly, although it does have a reputation for being a bit stubborn, so a consistent approach to training is very important. Tibetan Spaniels are a confident and watchful dog which is known to be intelligent and brave. Although they can be cautious with strangers, these dog do not bark a great deal and jump all over them. As long as proper socialization has taken place, the Tibetan Spaniel gets along well with other household pets. It is also good playtime companion for children. This breed is more than content with three regular walks every day, and will very much appreciate being allowed to run around off the leash in an open area.
The Tibetan Spaniel has an average shoulder height of 9.75 inches (25 cm). They have a double coat, which is long and silky haired. The most common color is golden, but any color can be considered acceptable for this classification. It is important to make sure the ear passages are kept clean, as well as provide a regular grooming schedule with a brush.
