The Polish Lowland Sheepdog is, as it's name implies, from the country of Poland. Usual colors vary from grey or white with grey or black. However, other colors are generally acceptable for this breed of dog. Their consists of two layers, with the exterior coat being long and wire haired, while the under coat is much softer. Polish Lowland Sheepdogs require a regular grooming schedule with a brush and comb. They are a mid to smaller sized dog, with an average shoulder height of sixteen to twenty inches (42 cm - 50 cm).
The Polish Lowland Sheepdog dog is happy and alert dog, which is animated and intelligent. They have a good memory and are obedient. They do tend to be a little less confident around strangers. Due to the Polish Lowland Sheepdog's origins as a working dog, it needs to take part in many activities that provide a change of scenery and mental stimulation. It enjoys agility training, catch, and chasing Frisbees. This dog needs more than three short walks a day. The intelligence and easy-going demeanor of this breed make training fairly easy. Although visitors will be loudly announced, it is excellent with children, dogs and other household pets.
