(This breed has been viewed 12073 times)
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is from Wales. Pembrokes are great with children as long as the children remember not to tease them. They tend to be somewhat watchful around strangers, but are generally not a suspicious breed of dog. They can occasionally attempt to be domineering over each other. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a highly energetic dog that bonds quickly and closely with the family. They are brave and intelligent, and have an alert and self-confident air about them. The Corgi has an abundance of energy, therefore three short walks per day is not usually enough to satiate their need for exercise. These dogs happily enjoy such activities as enjoys games of catch and fetch, which allow them to develop remarkable agility skills. The high intelligence level of this breed tends to make training fairly easy.
With a shoulder height of only ten to twelve inches (25 cm - 30.5 cm}, Pembroke Welsh Corgi sport a coat which is quite water resistant and mainly consists of hard, straight hairs. Acceptable colors are beige, red, black and tan, although there may be white markings on the neck, chest, and legs. Their coats should be brushed occasionally to remove dead hair.
