(This breed has been viewed 12871 times)
The Miniature Schnauzer is a great little dog originating from the country of Germany. Standing in with a shoulder height thirteen inches to fourteen inches (33 cm - 36 cm}, the coat of the Miniature Schnauzer can be either black with silver markings, or salt-and-pepper colored. On rare occasions they can be completely white. The coat needs to be plucked by hand twice a year, preferably by a professional dog groomer, and it must never be clipped. The hair around the face of the Miniature Schnauzer should be combed on a regular basis to avoid tangles. Also, excessive hair around the pads of the feet of these dogs must be trimmed.
The Miniature Schnauzer breed is a lively, intelligent, and attentive dog, but has a reputation for being somewhat stubborn. It is very loyal to its family, and gets along quite well with children, other dogs, and any household pets. Owners must become accustomed to the fact that strangers will be announced with loud barking. Handling must be confident and consistent, as they are eager learners, but often have their own agenda. The Miniature Schnauzer has boundless energy, and loves to run and play in the yard, and take long country walks.
