The Miniature Pinscher
(This breed has been viewed 13266 times)
The Miniature Pinscher has a reputation for being an extremely alert and bold breed of dog, and is known to be spirited and lively in temperament. Although the exercise needs of this dog are moderate at best, the Miniature Pinscher does need to have regular opportunities to expend it's energy by running and playing outside. Training does not tend to be too difficult, but must be consistent to be very effective. The Miniature Pinscher displays an eagerness to learn and tends to obey commands fairly quickly. They get along quite well with children, provided the children do not pestered them too much. Some have been known to be aggressive with other dogs and strangers, however this behavior is not common if proper socialization has taken place.
Originating from Germany, the Miniature Pinscher stands at a shoulder height of ten inches to twelve inches. It has a coat which is smooth, short and lustrous. Colors can be as varied as chocolate with rust-red, to stag red, or even black with red markings. The coat of the Miniature Pinscher is generally easy to groom although it should be brushed and combed periodically to remove dead any hair.
